Current Opportunities


Software Developer/Technical Support

As a key member of our software development and technical support team, you will be involved in the development of web applications using Java with SQL database backend.  You will also provide technical support and assistance to Emerald’s fast growing customer base across North America. 

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Web application development is required.
  • Knowledge of Java (JSP, Java beans, Java scripts) is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP network is an asset.
  • Knowledge of SQL and database administration is an asset.
  • Overall knowledge of software development environment (design, test and deployment) is necessary. 
  • Post-secondary diploma or an engineering degree is required (new grads are encouraged to apply). 
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and via e-mail is necessary. 
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced and busy environment.
  • Ability to learn and acquire new skills easily while adapting to an ever changing environment. 
  • Must be able to work well in a team setting as well as individually. 
  • Strong problem solving skills and detail oriented.

Workload Consultant

We are expanding our consulting team. Our consultants provide clients with Dynaworks workload methodology services including the conduct of system reviews of currently implemented workload systems and the training of workload coordinators as well as in the development of new workload instruments. Our consultants support all implementation services for our Dynamine workload decision support software. That includes new advanced services such as data analysis and benchmarking. Ideally, the successful candidate will be involved in the ongoing design, development and testing of the Dynamine software.


Qualifications
  • Two or more years experience as a workload coordinator for an activity based workload system. >
  • A combination of nursing clinical and management experience.
  • Strong presentation skills and a sense of humor.
  • Thorough understanding of MIS requirements and statistical reporting requirements for allied health departments.
  • Experience with one or more approaches to workload automation.

As a self-motivated and service oriented individual, you possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills, coupled with an attention to detail. You will have knowledge of nursing and allied health professional practice, workload conceptual model and healthcare informatics. The ability to work independently with minimum supervision and demonstrated initiative are essential.

Previous hospital experience in nursing or allied health professions is essential as is knowledge of CIHI’s Guidelines/Principles.
